ABOUT COVID RESTRICTIONS IN UGANDA

The Uganda government  categorised countries according to COVID surge as below;

Category 1: has only one country which is India. All flights from India and all passengers originating from India were suspended effective 1st May 2021.

Category 2: Travellers from USA, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan and Tanzania should consider postponing non-essential travel to Uganda.

Any traveler from these countries including Ugandan Nationals and residents will be subjected to a PCR COVID-19 test at the points of Entry including Entebbe International Airport. It costs $65 per person but it will change to $30 soon when the Government takes over the Testing Labs

Category 3: These are the countries NOT in category 1 and 2.

Individuals in category 2 and 3 who have received their full COVID-19 vaccination and are not symptomatic will be allowed into the country without need for testing on arrival.

If you do not belong in category 1 or 2 and are fully vaccinated, you are still required to present negative COVID-19 test results valid for 72 hours from when the samples are collected before departing and also before entry to Uganda.

However, there is a possibility of a change in these travel guidelines at any moment from now.

We will keep updating this page on our website
